markP&C
Hi. I am currently trying to figure out Autodesks P&ID software. The company I work has based there P&ID symbols on the ISA standards. Now this is where the problem begins. When setting up a new project through the Project Setup Wizard a option is given on 4 Palette options, PIP, ISO, DIN and JIS. There is an ISA palette available if by selecting a different workspace but this cannot be used when you have already set up the wizard to use on of the 4 toll palette options. Can anyone assist me on how I can get the ISA tool palette to work?
dbroada
I don't use P&ID but I think electrical is similar so this may help. Does your ISA palette reside in a pathed folder? This is what I have...
MarkFlayler
There is no easy way to change this due to the sheer amount of files that get created. You will have to have started the project for the ISA standard. You are correct that you can switch back and forth with the workspaces, but the symbols will not load into the project's supporting files. MarkFlayler
I was able to take the supporting files from an ISA and copy them into the directory of the non-ISA project and things did work out okay, but that may cause other libraries not to work now. I would say this would acceptable if you mistakenly created a project with the wrong settings and need a quick fix, but if that were the case you would have created a new project correctly from the wizard. What you are trying to do is change it mid-stream which is not currently supported.
markP&C
Thanks for the help dbroada. Unfortunately P&ID works through a project manager which does not seem to have the same structure as you have indicated. The closest I can see to what you have shown is in Autocad Options.
