Help annotating bearing of a line

I know how to annotate the length of a line, I just can't figure out how to annotate the bearing. Like, if I'm drawing an area for a surveyor and there is a line 1000 ft. with a bearing of N08d15'37"W. How do I get that line to be labelled "N08d15'37"W"?

Type LBL2 into the search box above and hit enter. The results list will contain a couple of solutions, short of buying C3D software.

I simply pick up the intended layer, check on the lettering style, and then hit the old text. Manually type in the correct way as I see it. Including south for North on the bearing.

I use Carlson software & it has multiple commands for labeling bearings & distances so I'm not sure if ACAD can do it on it's own. Since you already know the desired bearing info, why not just modify the text accordingly?

ACAD standard is very limited when it comes to labeling bearings or any other type of surveying inquiries. If you want to label the bearing of a line, first type UN (UNITS) and set you 'angle type' as 'Surveyor's Units', then set your precision to read '0d 00' 00" (dms). Now type LI (LIST) and select the line you want to label. Now just copy/paste your bearing into a text box, and listo .
