swilson
I have figured out how to import point cloud data into SW using the ScanTo3D add-in and then create a triangular mesh using the Mesh Prep Wizard. At this point I am trying to export the triangular mesh data such that it tells me what three nodes comprise the vertices of each triangle in the mesh. Can somebody help me figure out how to do this? I have been trying but can't figure it out. I am using SolidWorks 2010. Thanks.
shift1313
Welcome Swilson. As far as I know there is no way to export .ply files after you bring them into SW. Its a one directional work flow. Your mesh data is still there(just hidden) after you run the mesh prep and surface wizards. What kind of information are you trying to get out of that? swilson
I just need to output the .ply file so that I can read it into MATLAB to perform other calculations.
