Timinator
Hi all, new here. I have just recently loaded AutoCad 2010. (Formerly had 2006) While I like several of the new features, I'm having some trouble with the shademode. At various and inexplicable times, the shademode seems to just turn itself off. (including visual conceptual and flat or edge-shaded). If I go back to wireframe everything is fine, but when I click any of the shademodes the object(s) just dissappear? The only fix I've found is to exit Acad and reload, not a big deal but we deal with shared liscensing, so sometimes when you dump the program it's tough to get a license again. Anyone else have this prob? Thanks for any help and sorry if this is a repetetive post. Tim
ReMark
What are the specs on your graphics card?
Timinator
Graphics card is Nvidia Quadro nvs 290 256mb Doesn't seem like a GC problem but I certainly could be wrong. The problem, when it does happen, usually happens after completion of a slice or extrude command. I was kinda hoping it might just be a toggle or other command to reinstate the shaded model... Thanks!
ReMark
What is the approximate drawing file size? Is this a pretty complex 3D drawing? Lots of 3D objects?
rvpas
Hi Timinator, Do you check in Options dialog box/System tab Check Enable Hardware Acceleration See Autodesk help http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2011/ENU/filesACR/WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-51c7.htm
Timinator
Thanks guys. ReMark, didn't matter what size how many 3D objects were in the drawing assembly. It happens on a simple cube as well as an intricate assembly. However, played quite a bit with my settings yesterday (rvpas, I did not see an "Enable Hardware Acceleration" box) and it seems that disabling the "Viewcube" seemed to do the trick. Have not lost my shademode since doing that.
