giraffeking
Hey, I'm looking for a quick fix to cut down the size of my .las data. I really just need a small section of the point cloud I'm creating, and I want to clip the rest. Sorry for the hijack but if there is any quick way to do this? Thanks! jeremy2012
I am assuming you will make a surface from it. What I do is after I have created my surface, I just turn off the point cloud layer so I am just left with my desired area.
Emigrato
My advice is to decimate the huge point cloud by means of the opensource Meshlab.
giraffeking
thanks guys, I'll try both. I've taken the point cloud out of the drawing before, but then if I decide I want to create a different surface (I'm still getting used to Civil 3d, making all sorts of changes after I think I've got it..) I have to reload which takes me another 20 minutes.. I'll check out Meshlab, I could definitely use some decimating. Any way meshlab can 'clip' the point cloud with lat/long figures?
