CNatka
what is impact of the using more bits . For example what's speciality 64 bit ACAD gets on 32 bit ACAD. Does some boundary values increase like plot area or something else we get in using the more bits. Please give me some of the details of the speciality of 64 bit ACAD over 32 bit ACAD. ReMark
You are on the completely wrong track. 32-bit vs. 64-bit...http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions After reading that then read this article about 64-bit software and CAD...http://info.kubotekusa.com/3D-Engineering-Software-Tools-Kubotek-Blog/bid/42534/Does-64-bit-Computing-Matter-for-CAD-Users Edited September 30, 2011 by ReMark
BIGAL
Try playing with 100mb dwg's you soon find out 32 bit is a problem.
SLW210
There is a possible minor downside to running 64-bit programs. 64-bit versions of programs actually run slightly slower in some cases than 32-bit versions of the same program. Remember that 64-bit is not designed to be faster than 32-bit, it is designed to handle more data. Tasks that are not shuffling large amounts of data are not hitting the 32-bit memory bottleneck and won’t benefit from the change. The largest performance hit I’ve seen benchmarked was 20% and in most simple benchmarks 32-bit to 64-bit performance on the same task was close. If you are not maxing out with 32-bit, 64-bit will make no difference. That being said, at some point all will be 64-bit, so when upgrading, if possible go to 64-bit.
