Install *.shx Font

I did a couple of quick searches on this and didn't find anything that worked for me. I have a drawing done by another user and she used the archs.shx font. So I got a copy of this font off the Internet and installed it in my AutoCAD font file along side the dozens of other *.shx files which were located therein. But when I open up AutoCAD and try to choose this style it does not appear in the list. Am I missing something?

Did you try exiting AutoCAD then starting it again?

Is it a font file or a shape file? Maybe there was something else you needed to download.

Yes, I restarted AutoCAD several times. The file seems to be known as an AutoCAD Compiled Shape File. There are dozens of these *.shx files in the folder where I put this one but only three of them show up in the list to format a text style. So I have some more reading to do on how to get this installed.

I tried installing the archs.shx font and it worked perfectly for me.

I put it in my current AutoCAD Fonts folder, and it appeared ready for use.

As it is not working for you, AutoCAD has not got the folder that you put it in on its support path. Are you running more than one version of AutoCAD?

It sounds very peculiar that you can see lots of .shx files, but AutoCAD can only see three. I should check again the folder that you put it into.
