khama
How do you load components onto a drawing? Hi, Welcome to the forums. Now, are you trying to load something INTO a drawing, that is already done? What format is it? Different models / components require diffferent methods of loading. Import is the seamless method. You must only use the formats selectable. Failing that load the drawing in a new template. Ctrl+Shift+C will copy with a basepoint. go to a new template / drawing, and Ctrl+Shift+V to paste it into the new drawing. If sucessful, save the drawing and you are done. Ctrl+Shift+C doesn't work in Revit. Are you meaning AutoCAD? This was posted in the Revit forum. As for loading components, you use Load Family to "Import" what you need into Revit. I use Revit MEP & Revit Structure and it's under the Insert tab. And just so you're clear on terminology, you load "Families" but once they exist in your Revit model, you then place "Components", since a Component is always apart of a Revit Family. Lee Roy
Unless you're trying to load a .dwg, in which case you can Import or Link. We could totally confuse you, lmao. You can also drag+drop from Windows Explorer into your model.
