aiacs31
Hey guys I work in the Shopfitting manufacturing trade creating drawings for cabinets, interiors etc I have been using 2D AutoCAD for over 5 years now and have in the past been scared off by 3D due to not Knowing how to do the job in 3D in the main part which is documenting in layout! Since 2013 has come out it appears that the documenting part is now a lot easier so I have decided to give it a go and to teach myself producing jobs in 3D So here comes the questions • How can I quickly measure panels/aperture in units in the model space without actually drawing a dimension, if there is such a thing which comes up on the bottom toolbar? • when I draw a unit in 3D model space and import my base views etc to a layout as well as dimensioning the section up etc, if I copy the unit in the model space to edit or use for another unit the copied unit appears in the same layout off the page + it throws all my dimension out by disassociating them. Am I doing something wrong? • Also when I use the press pull and multiple command I select the edge face of a row of ends which I copied and then extend them by 20mm it then either correctly increased some by 20mm but added on another piece by 20mm on others, very strange, it doesent fully work reducing this way too, any ideas? That is all for now I think if any one can give me the heads up it would be appreciated Cheers
MSasu
How can I quickly measure panels/aperture in units in the model space without actually drawing a dimension, if there is such a thing which comes up on the bottom toolbar? Please check either the MEASUREGEOM or DIST commands; first one is to be found in Inquiry toolbar. Both commands will honor current auto OSNAP settings.
