byk3bep
I'm having problems fully rotating my view in 3D modeling space (acad2011). Cant turn all the way around the x-axis (wcs) whatever ucs i am in. I tried shift+left mouse, and using the view cube (click+drag), but the result is the same. The rotation is stopped once i get to the top side of my model. Managed to get around this, and to adjust the view (using the view cubes arrows for rotation) but once i try and continue, it just "snaps" back to the xz plane (wcs). So there are the two rotation problems i am having Thx for your help
Lewis C
Hi, I had a similar problem, and I found the resolution under 'Options--3D Modelling--Viewcube settings' then I unticked 'Snap to closest view' Not sure if this is what your looking for, hope it helps anyway. JD Mather
The rotation is stopped once i get to the top side of my model. Try Free Orbit rather than Orbit. I hate that they made the constrained orbit the default.
Dadgad
Welcome to the forum. Might this be caused by your VIEW CUBE SETTINGS, as shown in the image? Try unchecking KEEP SCENE UPRIGHT in your VIEW CUBE SETTINGS. Edited August 22, 2012 by Dadgad
byk3bep
All good ideas, the free orbit is the closest one to the solution Keep scene upright, and snap to closest view seem to do nothing for me... Still wondering why i the view "snaps" to the xz-plane (wcs) when i try to change (rotate) my view

byk3bep
Nope, that didn't do it Edited August 22, 2012 by byk3bep
BIGAL
Maybe try the Vpoint command vpoint 1,1,1 is 45 degs hor & vert using stuff like 1,0,1 means viewing from Y direction, you can have any number combo really 1,1,3 ? Forgot then just save view. Another post idea was save you view settings as commands (defun C:v1 () (command "view" "R" "V1")) This is restore view V1 or you could have as Vpoint 1,1,
