Referencing a profile to another alignment

As a result of this problem http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?72561-HELP!-Recovering-previously-saved-drawing.

I tried making a new alignment with the same name as my old alignment, but it says that it is duplicate, even though I had deleted the old alignment by mistake.

So I'm trying to figure out ways to fix that. Ultimately I would love to just start this day over, or somehow bring my old alignment back to life, but I can't.

Is there a way I can re-reference a profile to a new alignment without redoing the entire profile?

I'd attach the dwg but I don't know how to attach dwgs either.

Sorry I can't help you with the first issue, but attaching is easy enough.

To attach a drawing, or any type of attachment ...

Go Advanced in lower right hand corner of quick reply window

Manage Attachments

Browse to select file on your computer

Upload

Close this window

Submit reply :)

This sounds fun.

You deleted your alignment, but still have the profile? Strange, considering you cant have a profile without an aligment. Posting the drawing would help this issue.

What happens when you export to XML?

There is no way to re-refernce a profile. You can superimpose a profile into a profile view and trace over the superimposed profile to create a new one. Fast and easy.

Again, post the drawing. Would be of great help here.
