  1. 1. How do you handle a new installation of autoCAD

    • Do you trust the built-in migration tool?
    • Do you export all your settings-files right before the new installation?

    • Do you already have backups of all your settings-files so you are good to go?
    • Do you have a few essentials that you move over and the rest will come naturally?
    • Do you start fresh every time and see what you just can't live without?

Ahoy me mates! (confused? Don't be. Today is 19 Sept)

I know that many of us (me included) are in the position where we take care of our own installation of AutoCAD. I am curious to know how you prepare for and first steps after a new installation of AutoCAD. Be it because it's time for the new release, a new computer to get set up or an old one getting a refresh.

Do you trust the built-in migration tool of your settings?

Do you take copies and backups and triplets of all customization files?

Do you start fresh every time and see what settings / shortcuts you can't live without and bring them back one at a time?

yarrh! (meaing Cheers!)
