SteelDetailerLA
Is there any way when I am dimensioning something to make it read feet and decimals of a foot for instance. Instead of it reading 5’-6 9/16” it would read 5.546875’? I tried a few different things on the dimension style and I can get it to read out in decimal inches (it would be 66.5625” with the example givin) but not feet. The reason I need it is for a program that we run where we must enter the measurement in decimal feet
Dadgad
Create a copy of one of your drawings, and have a play with the -DWGUNITS command (you must include the hyphen). Press F2 to open your commandline text window, as you want to be able to see lots of lines at once. Using this command you will be able to change the data base drawing units to FEET. Meaning that after having done that. if you enter a distance of 1, it WILL be one foot. Read the commandline prompts carefully so you get it right, It is a very useful command, even changing between METRIC and IMPERIAL or visa versa. So many users don't have a clue what units they are drawing in, this is the quickest and easiest way to determine beyond any doubt. Even if you don't want to change any settings, but just to confirm that which is already established.
