f700es
I have Acrobat Pro X and I tried to see if I could in it and I can't see any where that would allow me to delete a layer. I also tried to open the PDF in Illustrator CS5.1 but the layer information did not transfer over from the PDF in Illustrator. I also tried in Corel Draw X6 and it did not show the layers either. Sorry looks like you are stuck with it.
Organic
In Acrobat X, in the layers pane there is a little drop down button at the top, and in there is the 'Merge layers' option where you can easily merge all the layers to layer 0 say and then layers are effectively gone (drawing remains unchanged though). Not sure if Acrobat 9 has something similar.
f700es
Yeah I saw the merge layer command. If there is info on this layer wouldn't it get merged onto the other layer?
