From 3D model to 2D layout and printing

I have a question and am hoping someone can help me find the right steps for it.

I'm new to AutoCAD and have made a 3D model of a specific mounting bracket.

Now that I have the 3D model, I want to 'translate' it to a 2d layout so I can put some dimensions in it and bring the drawing to a local mechanical engineer.

Here's the file of the drawing:

SL135_Mounting_Bracket.dwg

I thought it was pretty easy to do but don't know exactly how to get started... :-(

Please help me?!

You have five available options. rkent gave you one of them (View Base). Note that this command places all 2D views in a layout and not in model space.

The four other options are:

1. Flatshot

2. Sectionplane

3. SolProf

4. SolView/SolDraw combo
