General Commands not Working

No Clue

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been working in AutoCAD since release 14. I only know what I've been exposed to, so am not technical!! I am however the only person in our office with any knowledge as the others are all brand new to AutoCAD - so I'm the expert!?!?!

The problem is, one person can't use some simple commands. For instance "bring to front" or "send to back"... there are other oddities. In my experience, I would just reload AutoCAD but have no administrator rights and the only person who does is out of the office for the next two weeks. I also thought I could just load someone else's profile, but couldn't locate any?

Any ideas?

No it is not a command. It is an option just like Reinstall or Uninstall thus it must be accessed via your Windows Control Panel. See Add/Remove programs.

I don't believe that is the only solution. The Repair option should be tried first. The uninstall/reinstall process is not as straightforward as one might think.

System repair done. This did not resolve the problem. When I'm logged into his PC AutoCAD functions are fine. When he logs in commands don't work. I am assuming this has to do with his profile?

What do I do? Find the profiles, copy mine and rename it as his?

If it's commands that is the problem, then copying your ACAD.PGP-file (run (FINDFILE "acad.pgp") in autoCAD to find where the file is saved) to his profile could solve it?

You are probably right about the profile-solution, I am just generally confused by profiles in AutoCAd these days so I can't help you there :(

I tried resetting the profile - that did nothing... until after he'd logged out logged back in 2x and now it works! Weird.

THANKS!
