How do I make sunlight?

I'm trying to make sunlight. I can't go through the tutorials but My screen looks way different. For starters the dialog box does not come up

When I hit the "Light" button (or type light) then I get the text

Point/Spot/Targetpoint/Freespot/freeweB/Distant

Filedia is set to 1. Why can't I get the dialog box?

I'm using acad 2009

That is for the file dialog box. What is cmddia set to?

Is there a sunproperties command in 2009?

cmddia is also set to 1

I used acad 2004. In it I could set the longitude, latitude, and time of day. I'm trying to do the same thing in 2009 but don't know how to

Sorry

I don't know much about autocad. I don't know what sunproperties are but I'm assuming that they are what I used in acad 2004. Therefore I assume that they are in 2009

Your profile says 2007. You're using 2009 but you appear to have more experience with 2004. Interesting.

You need to access the light commands. They can be found on the View pulldown menu, the Lights toolbar and/or on the Light Control Panel located in the Dashboard.

Specifically you want to find the Geographic Location feature.
