vertical horizons
In INVENTOR, the files were called the Content Center files. For SOLIDWORKS, I have no idea what they would be called, or where they would be located. We have recently moved over from INVENTOR to SOLIDWORKS. Can someone tell me the path where SOLIDWORKS keeps its' files, that would contain items such as a 6 inch flange. So far, I have found a 2 inch weld neck flange, but no other flanges. vertical horizons
I found a web link called 3D Content Central that says that you can DOWNLOAD 3D objects. Surely, this can't be the ONLY way to be able to bring objects into your Solidworks assemblies.
JD Mather
Check your Toolbox right side of screen.
vertical horizons
Thanks, JD. I found that location, but still could not find the flanges. I realize that there will be a transistion period. I'm used to the INVENTOR Content Center Library, where I could either look through the listings on the left side of the screen, or use the search feature to find the object I needed. vertical horizons
JD, I did not explore that location very well. Now that I have, I have a new question ... Where do you path the parts to, once you download them, and unzip them?
vertical horizons
I figured it out. When we set up the SOLIDWORKS parameters, we created 2 "parts" folders. One for: - the components that WE build in our shop, & one for - the components that we would purchase. Therefore, any object that we download from 3DC will be pathed to the 2nd folder. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, JD.
