Parts lists

Recommended Posts

I have created a Pneumatic Schematic drawing using blocks for the variousparts with part refs attached, balloon refs and a corresponding parts list.

However, Our parts list normally follow the following format.

Item, Qty,Part No, Description.

The standard ACAD parts list does not contain a column for Part No's.

Any help producing a parts list with the extra column for part no would beappreciated

I can produce a parts list I require, minus the part no column, using theblock command and adding a part ref, but I would like to have the blocks savedin a separate folded for my colleagues to access so that they can compile theirown schematic drawings and then add balloon refs and generate a parts list.

I have tried creating blocks using "wblock" and then adding thepart ref. but when I insert in to a new drawing the part ref information doesnot appear to be inserted with the drawing.

Any help producing a parts list with the extra column for part no would beappreciated. as would any info on inserting blocks.

Regards

John Hartland

Nope , I am using AutoCAD Mechanical 2011
OK. I was going by your profile where it says "Using: Inventor 2011". You should probably update that. And the Forum you want is probably AutoCAD Vertical Products, as there is no "standard ACAD parts list" in vanilla AutoCAD.

Hi,

I use Inventor for the majority of my work and AutoCAD Mechanical for Hydraulic Schematics.

This is what I want to achieve.
