grouch19
Hi all, I've got some 2D contours that have certain vertices very close to each other in some parts of the string. Some are only 0.008 apart. The cross checking in Drawing cleanup is picking these all up as crossing strings. Does anybody know of anything that will possibly filter out these vertices at a set tolerance? I've tried using Snap clustered nodes but that won't work seen as though it is occurring on the same string. Thoughts? Cheers
Murph_map
In the Map clean up try Simplify Objects or Weed Polylines. Just as a word of caution both of those can destroy a dwg if not used correctly so do some savesas before for backups.
grouch19
Thanks Murph_Map. I've given those options another go but they seem to change the vertices too much. I've used the Datem map editor Filter option but much like simplify and weed this option seems to remove vertices and change the shape of the contour. sometimes this isn't a huge issue however in this case I really need the contour lines to maintain shape. thanks for the suggestion though
