ytong
Hey guys, I was using Tcount (Automatic text numbering from Express) to number a serial of mtext objects, but failed. Those mtext objects were exploded from blocks. Following the regular steps of Tcount, the command line says "0 objects modified". If I use "Explode Text" first and apply Tcount, it works. However, the converted text objects would lose some feature and display differently from the original mtext objects. Does this mean Tcount only applies to text, but not mtext objects? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! Yangbin
edwinprakoso
TCOUNT works for single line text and multi line text. Are you sure they are MTEXT?
ytong
Yes, Edwin. Let me upload my document so you might check. The first "+00" on the left lower corner is still inside a block. All other "+00" are MTEXTs after exploding the blocks. TCOUNT works for single line text and multi line text. Are you sure they are MTEXT? tcount_issue.dwg
edwinprakoso
I see. Yes, TCOUNT doesn't work if your text is inside a block. I thought you were asking if it works for text and mtext.
ytong
Sorry for the confusion, Edwin. I updated the file. In the new attachment, all "+00" are MTEXTs, NOT blocks. I still could not use tcount to edit these MTEXTs. tcount_issue.dwg
RobDraw
I can't open the file until tomorrow morning, so I have to ask. Are you sure they are not attributes? Select one and check the properties.

eldon
TCOUNT also worked in version 2002
ytong
Tcount worked for me in 2015 version with your dwg, what version are you using and what option are you using with the command? Autocad 2007. I tried all options, but none of them worked. The command line always gave me "0 object modified." I guess there's sth wrong with the autocad itself. Thanks, though! ytong
TCOUNT also worked in version 2002 Thanks, eldon. If it works for y'all, then there must be sth wrong with my autocad. At least, I've learned that TCOUNT works with MTEXTs.
