Can I lock columns positions and widths in Layer Properties Manager?

This is minor annoyance for me. Anytime I open a drawing the Layer Properties Manager columns open with the columns wider than necessary and I have to resize them. Is there any way to lock the columns in the order and width that I want? Shouldn't these adjustments remain, if done in a template? That doesn't seem to be the case.

 

I'm on AC 2012 running on a Windows 7 box.
