Dizzle517
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with drawing a Cam in AutoCAD 2014. THe book I have, has very little instructions on how to do produce a cam. Working circle 5.0 dia. Shaft dia. .75 clockwise Hub dia. 1.25 Square key .18 Follower dia. 1.0 Start 1.0 from center Required Motion: Rise 90 degrees harmonic motion 1.00 Dwell 30 degree Rise 90 degrees, harmonic motion .50 Dwell 30 degree Fall 90 degrees, harmonic motion 1.50 Dwell 30 degree I need to transfer dimension from a displacement diagram to a cam layout. I'm having trouble laying out the dimensions onto a displacement diagram. Can anyone point me to another thread or if anyone has done this before give me some advice. JD Mather
Book Title, Edition, Author, page number? CAM Example.dwf Here is AutoCAD example, but I think I would use a modern CAD program like Autodesk Inventor for something like this. Patrick Hughes
Is this a school exercise or a need for finished drawing for manufacturing? I've made many cam drawings and can help if you PM me. One resource I've found very helpful is http://www.camcoindex.com/svcman/moonbook.pdf

Patrick Hughes
Maybe my message folders were full - I've removed some. Have you had a chance to look over the link I posted? There's a ton of info in it.
