MAINEman5390
I am currently trying to make an arc with a R20 tangent to two circles each with a R1. The circles distance is 8'' from mid point to mid point. I am having trouble creating the arc and giving it a specific radius and then making the arc tangent to the two circles. There is a pdf attached of what I am trying to redraw for an assignment. It is the large arc on the bottom of the drawing. Thanks! nestly
Welcome to Cadtutor Create the 20R arc by using the CIRCLE command with the TTR (TangentTangentRadius) option, then TRIM as needed.
MAINEman5390
Figured it out nearly as soon as I checked this and did exactly as you suggested. Thanks for confirming I did it correctly!
BIGAL
A technical answer to a arc arc arc situation there are 4 solutions possible and it has been a buggy problem in Autocad since year dot. Some other software we use asks if its the correct solution if not will step through all 4 solutions asking as it does it.
nestly
I think there are actually 8 possible solutions, if the angle of the arc is great enough.
