Ranger
I have an assembled part made up of several standard parts. I want to be able to modify one or more of those standard parts within their reference drawings and not loose the assembled parts general design. To do this I have created a dynamic block using several XRef'd drawings. Can I apply constraints to this dynamic block that will allow me to change the part reference drawings without destroying the relationship between the assembled parts? If this isn't possible, then is there a way for me to maintain a standard parts library and standard assemblies library where I can change only the parts and the assemblies automatically update themselves? rodykoolhoven
Hi Ranger, I am doing the same thing as you with 1 slight diffence and it works for me. What you need to do is to place your xref in a sub-block of the dynamic block. And add "constraining-geometry" in those sub-blocks (could be a line or a circle to constrain on in it's parent dynamic block) This way your constriants are only looking at "the always present" geometry in the sub block and that way it doesn't matter what your xref looks like. Hope this helps, Greetz, Rody
Ranger
Pinkrosi, I do not see an attached dwg. or screenshot. Am I missing some forum setting? Ranger
