onilozay
Hello, I'm totally new. I know this has probably been asked before, but I'd like to try a different 'slant' on the question. When I did block definitions, I created a block that I no longer want, totally useless. Now, I'd like to remove it from the drop-down list of "Insert". I cannot do this. I've tried the "PURGE" command, and sure enough, in the section that says "View Items You Cannot Purge", there it is. Its doesn't even have any shape, it just has a name from the Define dialog. So why does Autocad not let you remove a symbol if you've created it accidentally? thanks in advance, totally new at this
nestly
Welcome to Cadtutor You should be able to PURGE it unless it's in use in the drawing. Try using Quick Select (QSELECT) to see if it's inserted somewhere in the drawing.
onilozay
I can't seem to purge it. Here is exactly how I made the door, and since creating it in Define Block, I've none tried to insert it once B enter then typed REDUNDANT1 OK enter I actually did it another time and now have REDUNDANT1 & REDUNDANT2, again only the name and OK button. That simple, and still when I type PURGE in command line, it shows REDUNDANT1 under "Items You Cannot Purge". Not the end of the world, just can't figure it out. nestly
Be happy to help you figure it out if you attach the drawing (use the Go Advanced link at the lower right of the quick reply window)
onilozay
Oops, you where right, I must have accidentally inserted both of them. I went to quick select and found them. Problem solved, thanks!
