Hi

another drafting timesaver will be if there could be a routine to number the treads in a staircase automatically...

i've seen it in revit ....

it will be such a pleasure to have it in 2D autocad.... in plan and section

thanks.

I use Lee Mac's NumInc LISP. It won't do it autmatically but you can select text position, which number to start on and what increments you want. Basically asfter you start everywhere you click the number is placed and moves up by the increment you set.

FYI the Revit one only works for some stairs not all. I doubt that AutoCAD can do that with maybe the exception of AutoCAD Architecture or stair building programmes that create the stairs and annotation.

thanks for your help guys....

I will probably be going for Lee mac's incremental array option

but all the other programs suggested were fantastic....

was wondering, in steven-g's suggestion above, would it be possible to have incremental numbers in the block attribute ??? its static when i see it ... and, could it be centered in the circles ??

thank you all so much..... you Gods ;)

What do you mean by static? did you do a regen. It uses a nested block and the attribute inside the second block can be placed anywhere (moving it requires that you attsync the block from inside the first block).
