Civil 3d assembly with variable component

I am creating various assemblies for my corridor. One assembly has a component that slopes down from the crest of the fill at a slope of 1V:2H to a max. of 2 meters below the starting point if necessary, before daylighting at a different slope. How do I set the component to terminate at daylight in the event that it hits the surface and not continue to the full 2m below starting elevation?

Thanks, I couldn't find this forum, it wasn't listed at the time. Doesn't seem to matter, though - I only seem to encounter problems that no one has a solution for!!

I have found an answer to my problem, for those who might be interested. Not sure if it is the most efficient method, but... if faced with the situation described above, set the assembly component to omit the link and codes, place a conditional cut/fill check, if it is still in a fill condition, backtrack to previous point and rerun the original link/slope/vertical deflection, then cut to ground. If it is in a cut condition, backtrack to previous point and cut straight to ground. It makes for a complex assembly, so name your components well!! Also, makes for a large file, so I would still appreciate any advice to refine this procedure.
