43st
Small warning.. drawings with viewbase objects edited, or regenerated, in 2016 are not backwards compatible with older versions of AutoCad (2014-2015). Unable to perform the requested action. This drawing was last edited with model documentation in a newer version of AutoCAD. SLW210
I do believe none of the versions are backward compatible, at least that was my initial understanding.
43st
2015 would not change the views to be incompatible with 2014. But after the better 2015 model doc was released you would not want to use the notoriously twitchy 2014 version. For what it's worth. 2016 completely locks out older versions from accessing or updating the views.
nestly
I agree with SLW210, although not well documented, you're not likely going to be successful using VIEWBASE or editing existing drawing views in version older than the drawing was created with.
