Hi there

I am trying to calculate length of polylines that a part of them are in a distance of another.

Is there a way to routine this process

for example

I have a polyline with 52m length

and this is neiber with another with 13m length witches its 5m is in 0.3m distance from 1st polyline.

I want extract this polyline neiber length by routine.

I think the attached screenshot pretty much describes what you are after, at the most simple, with the two lines parallel, would you agree?

Is the length which you hope to extract, only the 5 meter portion of the total length?

Yes of course.

This illustrates exactly my mean.

In addition lines may be not parallel and may a part of line not end or start be in 0.3m distance.

A method suggestion pick near end pline 1, pick near end pline 2 then code know 2 ends and can do some perp calcs etc No code only idea.
