Hsanon
Hi We have irregular land (project) site profiles. And abutting roads. We could break the corners of the site line into differentiated front/side1/side2/rear sections. If we identify the road side and set setback parameters in the lisp program, can we have a routine to offset the site lines to get developmental setback lines ??? i am attaching a drawing with a sample irregular site and setbacks as per different heights. and the table of heights Vs setbacks....... Maybe each height setback could be a different colour lines ???? thanks... site setback.dwg
BIGAL
At first it looked easy a block of land with simple sides rather than the mulitsegment frontage, sideage as in your dwg. For a simple block say 4 sides it would be just a pick corners and nominate the correct option F S R and create an internal pline. But with your shape its a bit harder the method could still be the same pick a pline boundary starting point next corner nominate F S R and create a new offsetted pline continue around. The first part is getting a pline segments list between two 2 pts on the pline, bearing in mind may need pts at start and end to be included, something I do not have, I am sure some one here will have one. Hsanon
Thanks for your response chief, I haven't figured out what F S R is..... The simplistic way which I was thinking was probably Breaking the site line into separate front , side1 side2, and rear pline segments. Offsetting the entire front / side/ rear segments by the relevant amounts as in the table Changing the colours of the setbacks to differentiate the setbacks for the relevant heights Filleting the coloured lines to get continuous setback lines. Right now it's done manually, looking at the chart and offsetting, changing colours, and filleting. Was wondering if it could be automated ...... Or maybe there is another way...... ???? BIGAL
Front Side Rear The answer is in picking two points on a pline and making a new pline between them then offset as I have already said in my first post. Did you try searching for this ?
Hsanon
Yes i did.... and i found something on similar lines.... of course the coding is really complicated for me... (its originally Lee's code) have continued in that thread, hoping someone can put some sense in it....
Hsanon
Hi Bigal i have managed a (badly) coded offset program which works.... its very long drawn as I am not at all efficient in my coding.... But it works .... which is an achievement for me... Do have a look.... setback.lsp
Hsanon
Updated with some text..... There are no error handlers..... its meant for relatively large sites , in metric, with text height zero.... setback.lsp
BIGAL
I think you still need pick two points on pline and draw multiple offset lines. Its a time thing occasionally I have to do real work.
