Matthew Machinist
Hi, I am try to create a swept cut, I have had plenty of experience using this feature to create threads, however this operation is different. It is a 5mm diameter cut (created with a 5mm slot drill) with a swept entry. I am having trouble getting the sweep to mate with proper tangency with the 5mm extruded cut - here is a photo - http://s1056.photobucket.com/user/matthewdd3/media/screenshot.png.html?sort=3&o=0 It should be a smooth transition, but to get this far what I have done is I created the sweep from a flat face and then put the circular cut in after. I have tried to create a profile at the tangency point, however because it is not on an exact degree I cannot get the helix to snap to it. Any ideas would be appreciated. shift1313
Are you using the "sweep solid" option? Which year version of solidworks do you have?
