Dana W
Big drawing + small processor, + small video card = slow regen. Change any one or more of the three, and there will be improvement.

Cad64
You say it takes "some seconds" to regen. Exactly how many seconds are we talking about? And how big are the drawings that take several seconds to regen? This doesn't sound like much of a problem if it's only taking seconds to regen. If it was taking several minutes, that would be a problem. Do you PURGE your drawings often? Have you run an AUDIT recently to check for errors? Do you have other programs running while working in Autocad? If so, you may want to close them to free up resources. If regen time is an issue, you may need to look into upgrading your system. Better graphics card, more RAM and what about your processor? You didn't mention what processor you're using?

Cad64
If it's taking 10 seconds to regen every time you pan or zoom around the drawing, you may want to turn off REGENAUTO: http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-5449.htm,topicNumber=d0e301544
