Reclamation Slopes

Hello All,

First post here. I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D to create a new surface to represent a reclaimed slope in a mining project. The existing slope is ~1.7H:1V, the reclaimed slope will be 3:1. I tried using a corridor and found it could be done, but not as efficiently as I'd hoped. Another CAD user suggested creating the surface using the grading tools. I am not familiar with grading, do not have access to youtube at work, and found the AutoDesk tutorials to be more frustrating and confusing than helpful.

Can anyone point me towards some helpful information or give some insight on how to use the grading tools?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

Marc, there are many Tutorials right here on CadTutor.

Upper left of most pages.

Take care.

There aren't any tutorials here for Civil 3D as far as I am aware.

Personally I would go the corridor route, the grading tools are so so. Depending upon whether you are constrained at the bottom of the pit or the top of the pit, be careful what elevation/position you set your alignment.

Most of the better tutorials will all be hosted on YouTube so perhaps see if you can get access to that somehow.
