samifox
hi is there a way to set the units of imported xref to be equal to the host drawing's units? Thanks Shay
RobDraw
Yes. UNITS will get you to the dialog box version.
samifox
i know . for example, if my host is in Milimeter and the xref is in Cantimeter, the xref will be scaled. i want to avoid 1. going back to the the xref 2. unit it to milimiters 3.saving 4. going back to the host 5.import dwg again thanks
RobDraw
So, you are saying that you want to avoid having to do what you need to do in order get the units the same without scaling? That would be a neat trick.

samifox
Set everything to unitless. INSUNITS INSUNITSDEFSOURCE INSUNITSDEFTARGET i notice that when i set INSUNITS to 0, no scale take place. but i couldn’t get the logic of INSUNITSDEFSOURCE and INSUNITSDEFTARGET. do they control the direction of the units inheritance?, meaning, when the host is going to adopt the units type of the xref (INSUNITSDEFSOURCE) and vise versa. honestly, even now when asking im not really finding full sense of what im talking about. can anyone make an order in this issue? rkmcswain
Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were trying to avoid "auto-scaling" Personally, if I want something scaled, I'll do it myself. That's just me.
RobDraw
Personally, if I want something scaled, I'll do it myself. That's just me. You're not alone. Trying to work with different units gets me confused. Kind of like working in two platforms (Revit and AutoCAD) at the same time.
samifox
yes you did help me avoid scaling when the xref is unitless, can anyone explain to me what is the logic behaind INSUNITSDEFSOURCE INSUNITSDEFTARGET ? ?
