mstrwill
Hello All, In my older version of autoCAD (2006) when I used the "dtext" command I could click on the screen for the first point (to establish location) and then click a second point (to indicate direction) and then type so that the text would go in the direction of the two points. Now when I use the same command (AutoCAD 2016) while typing the text is horizontal and then adjusts to the direction that was indicated by the two points initial selected after I close the Command. I would like to see where I am typing so to speak. I was able to change this on the last computer I was working on, but did not write the steps down I now I have forgotten what I changed. I believe it was a system variable. Can anyone help me??
SLW210
If Text Height for the Text Style = 0, it will prompt for the Text Height before entering the Angle. What is on the command line as you do this?
tombu
The system variable you're looking for is MTEXTFIXED
SLW210
MTEXTFIXED has no effect on DTEXT. P.S. If the Text Style is Annotative, you will not be prompted for Text Size, you will need to have that set in the Text Style before.
tombu
The system variable you're looking for is MTEXTFIXED Oops (thanks SLW210), that was for mtext. The system variable you're looking for should be DTEXTED or the newer TEXTED depending on which version of AutoCAD you're using.
