hi,

 

i dont understand what ACAD operating system environmental variable means? it is windows related variable?

 

if you read the documantation , notice that the variable is not saved which means is a windows variable?

 

and what is the different between (getvar "acadprefix") to (getenv "acad")?

ACADPREFIX is read-only. It only reports the support file search path. You can't do a (setvar "ACADPREFIX" "......")

(getenv "ACAD") also reports the same info, but you can also use (setenv "ACAD" ".....") to change it.

My (getenv "acad") gave me nil maybe its another Windows 10 bug, or it was my typing and drinking scotch at the same time.

 

Text case is important with environmental variables. Try it again with (getenv "ACAD") samifox had it wrong in his first post as well.
