Casio47
Howdy... I have two .dwg files open (one on each monitor). How do I copy multiple objects from one file to another, and maintain the proper scale. For example, if one table is 6' x 3', how would it remain the same dimension when placed into the 2nd CAD file? Thanks
ReMark
You are drawing all objects FULL size are you not? You aren't scaling your drawings as one might do in manual drafting are you?
Casio47
Correct, all components are 1:
Casio47
Never Mind...I wasn't using the copy & paste from the Windows keyboard (Ctrl. + C then Ctrl. + V), I was trying the AutoCAD copy and paste, and it wasn't making the transition to the second monitor. RobDraw
AutoCAD uses the clipboard for copy/paste, same as Windows. If you are referring to AutoCAD's COPY command, that will only work within the same file.
Casio47
AutoCAD's COPY command, that will only work within the same file.[code] I believe I discovered that...thanks!
RobDraw
I believe I discovered that...thanks! I don't think so. Many others have "discovered" it before you.
BIGAL
Just a side issue if you "Insert" another dwg into current dwg you sometimes get a odd scaling problem so need to make sure insert dwg has the same dwg settings as the target. We get this occasionally as a scale factor of 0.3048 which is feet v's metric. Its not just Units but also check Aecdwgsetup in both.
