Nice models, but those render times are ridiculous. 6 hours? :o

On a good quad core system, renders like that probably wouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

Nah, I just joint this forum because of the low rendering speed.

Takes me 2 hours to render a 2 meg drawing with no textures, just opacity materials.

I checked your computer spec's. Is that a single core processor?

The more processors you have, the faster you can render.

You said your file size is 2MB, but how large/complex are your models?

What are your render settings? Are you using Final Gather and Global Illumination?

What about lighting? How are you lighting your scene?

And what do you mean by "Opacity Materials"? Are you using opacity maps on your models? Those can really increase render times if you're using a lot of them in a large render.

Wow, thanks for your complete answer!

My drawing has no xref, he's simple. I made a simple shed with 2 valves inside. The walls are transparent.

No back ground, only sunlight with NO shadows.

I used first ''presentation'' mode with the only change ''final gather on''.

Because I have no light and texture, the rendering drawing look like my workspace drawing, still ugly for the rendering time.

CPU is a Intel quad 9300 overclock to 3.0ghz/core.

My guess is the 2008 autocad 64 bits version. i'll load my 32 bit session too see if there any difference.

Thank you

The problem is not with your version of Autocad. There is something wrong with your scene set up or your render settings. If you have bad geometry in your models, this will cause rendering problems. Have you checked to make sure you don't have any inverted faces or twisted or overlapping geometry?

I have moved your question to its own thread. It's too confusing trying to follow the progress of two separate individuals in the same thread. In the future, please start a new thread when you have a question.

Thank you for your help and moving my post, good job!

I found the problem where I posted before, when you said that the filter must be ''mitchell'' in the sampling box. When I use ''presentation'' mode, by default it use ''lanczos''...

Rendering time drops to 5 minutes!

And thanks for your advice, now I'll check complexes geometrys before rendering.
