Phivo Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Hi all I'm looking for a way to divide a line (a 3D polyline in particular) by a certain length, accepting that a variable remainder will be left over at some point. For example, I have a 3D polyline that is 7467mm long, and I want to fit as many 750mm lengths in as possible (9 x 750 = 6750) leaving a 717mm remainder at one end. Does that make sense? Maybe another way to put it would be that I want to place objects at 750mm intervals along a very irregularly shaped 3D polyline. Any ideas? The divide command allows me to divide the object into equal lengths, but that isn't what I'm after. Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Tekenmeester Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Measure should work and then to insert your objects, first make it a block, then use measure on your pline, select when promted to use a block, enter the blocks name, enter if you want it rotared along line or not, give to length of spacings and there you have it. Hope this helps. Quote
Phivo Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 It's funny how you can use a program for 7 years and miss out on basic commands like that Thanks guys. I blame my ****ty university. Quote
