Command for changing layer?

Does anyone know if there is a command for changing an objects layer?

I want to click on an object and type "command"_"name of destination layer", or something like that...

The layer manager is ok, but as long as I know the name of the destination layer, it would be quicker to change the layer by a command.

CHPROP > select objects > LA (layer) > enter layer name

If you have a lot to change, it would be faster to change one to the desired layer and then use the "match properties" tool for the rest, assuming Map 3D has that command.

Select an object, or objects, then using the layer dropdown pick the layer you want those to reside on.

I know about the dropdown, and i usually use that methode. But sometimes it would be better to use a command.
