Bogbadbob658 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Hi I have a HP750C+ plotter which has a HP Jetdirect fitted. Previously I've been plotting via the parrel port and have ignored the Jetdirect but now the computer with the only parrell port has packed up so I'm trying to get the Jetdirect to work. There are no references on the Jetdirect so I'm not even sure of the model number. The only connection port on it says '10Base-T', what ever that means? My questions are; 1. Can I connect the plotter to my network using the Jetdirect? 2. What configuration settings do I need set on the plotter? 3. Do I need any software to run it? Many thanks Quote
rkmcswain Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 1. Yes. 2. You'll need to assign it a static IP address, subnet mask, and maybe a default gateway. You can do this at the control panel of the 750. 3. Once you get the IP assigned, then just point your driver at this address. Quote
Bogbadbob658 Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Thanks for the reply. I set them up, pointed the printer to the IP address but still nothing. Is there any software out there that will look at my network and find the printer? I have to confess when it comes to networks I don't have a clue. Quote
cadtag Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 first thing will be to ensure that you can communicate with the card. Presuming that the IP you set is 192.168.8.99 (subnet 255.255.255.0 ) open a cmd window, and type ping 192.168.8.99 do you get a reply? Quote
