MEP - zoom extents or orbit whilst in Real VS, looses model. not the case when in 2D

Visual styles as far as I'm aware should not effect model navigation.

 

Whenever I try and orbit my model when viewing as realistic then I loose my model - and I have to view in 2D - then zoom extents to find it. Zoom extents in realistic makes it zoom out really far.

A number of things could be effecting this.

 

1. The size and amount of the 3D objects in the model.

2. Your current hardware cannot handle the load.

3. Your settings in 3DCONFIG.

 

Try this: See if you can recreate the problem in a fresh template with just a few objects drawn in. Keep your resources high by not having a lot of programs running while doing this. If it still is an issue with a small amount of 3D objects in the Realistic VS then I would suggest looking into upgrading your hardware. Keep in mind that I do very large mechanical HVAC & Piping jobs and I have the same issue when I want to orbit around the entire 3D model. That's why I use the Isolate Objects tool a lot.
