Hello,

I use inventor 2012 to produce our products in 3D. I create product assembly animations using Inventor Studio, but with our subscription I also have Showcase and 3ds Max, which I think can also create animations, if so which is best suited to produce realistic product assembly animations?? Or should I stick with Inventor Studio?

Thanks in advance.

Lewis.

Any help please? Just a quick answer.

If you are asking the question, it must be assumed that you are not satisfied with the Inventor Studio solution.

I don't think there is an Easy Button solution if that is what you are looking for. There will be considerable training costs and learning curve associated with learning another tool.

I recommend talking to your VAR and find some examples of what you would like to do and research what tools were used to make these examples.

Hi JD,

Its not that i'm unsatisfied its just out of curiosity, I have the programs installed so why not use them if I can gain benefit? And yes I understand there is training involved but I am an apprentice and training is something i'm very familiar with.

Showcase is probably simpler and more automated, but might be frustrating if you are used to working with a high level of control.

Studiomax is probably the one with the most power, but it is also the most complex and takes quite a while to learn and get good at using it.

You should ask your vendor to demo the products so you can see how long it would take to do a comparable process and see what sort of quality you get as an end result.

Ok thank you Pablo, and yes I can imagine Studiomax being hard to learn as it does look very complex, ill have to look into it further.
