DaleLloyd7569 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Hi I am looking for help or suggestions on how to form the horn mould shape in the attached file. The horn profile was supplied to me as a .DWG file which I imported into the sketch, I thought initially I could just reproduce the two curved sections and then do a loft between my two sketches but inventor won't allow me to do that. I can put in sectional sketches around the imported shape but this has limited sucess as the loft sections don't seem to follow the shape correctly. If anyone can offer assistance it would be most appreciated. Dale horn mould.zip Quote
JD Mather Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The imported curve is a series of straight lines, not a curve. You will need to get a true curve from dwg or recreate true curve in Inventor (not too difficult). You should never use zero (0) dimensions - use coincident constraints. Do not repeat dimensions - not needed, use coincident constraints. Do not use UCS, not needed. Start workplane tool - click endpoint, click geometry and Inventor will create the workplane. I will try to get back later today with corrected file. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Precise information on the pitch, axis and beginning dia will be needed to accurately create the part. Here is my rough approx overtop your original sketch. Edited October 4, 2012 by JD Mather Quote
