File order

Good morning. I'm not a new AutoCad user but this has me stumped! When I go to open a file or insert an xref the drawing order is sorted by date. I change it EVERY time I go to do this... It started last week & I have no idea how to fix it & it's driving me crazy & it's a short drive today! Thanks for any and all help.

This helped me:

Open the dialog, arrange the sorting in the order you want and then

press CTRL and click the little 'x' in the top right of the window.

Thanks Paul... it didn't work.

Windows Explorer automatically sorts the files in each folder, please open the Windows Explorer and sort the files by name. Next time when you open the dialog, it should remember it.

Thanks for the reply Brad but this was the first thing I tried... it's a no go. Through windows it's sorted by name, through Autocad it's sorted by date.
