Currahee Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 All right got my first device programmed. Wasn't that hard once I got her figured out. First I made a list of all the buttons on the Shuttle and Razer and then prioritized them and then assigned them to either my right or left hand device. One good thing about this pic is that it is life size so I can place it under the device and, until I get used to the location of the buttons, I can see them at a glance. Now I got to program all those other buttons on the Razer for my right/mouse hand Anyone see any buttons they would or wouldnt use that often or do differently...LOL Quote
Currahee Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Do you not use keyboard shortcuts? never use any, well except to copy & paste, or ctrl+alt+tab Quote
f700es Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 That is so very cool but I am so ingrained into using the keyboard that I don't know if I could switch. Quote

Well like so many of us on here I am an a old school AutoCAD user; with that being said I was a command line junky (I guess thats why it was pretty easy programming these things, I just made command line macros for the buttons). But over the last 5 or so years I have realized that it is quicker to click than to type. Quote
f700es Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Uh, gonna have to disagree there "But over the last 5 or so years I have realized that it is quicker to click than to type". If in fact you are talking about clicking on icons. My example is having to move the mouse from where you currently are positioned on the screen to say the line or extend icon as to simply hitting the "L" key and right-click, spacebar or enter. Quote

f700es Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Well I had to run to a quick meeting and did not get to finish my thought but I was going to add that you know what ever works best for the user is the best approach Some are keyboard driven others are icon driven. Quote

So you are liking the Shuttle then? So far I do!! Like you said what ever works for you. Speed and shortcuts is everything to us. If you think about it, if you cut out 1/2 second of most of your commands that sure adds up in a 60hr project Quote
f700es Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 That is the exact argument I used before. I was trying to get a former coworker to start using aliases instead of icons. I showed him the difference and he said you only saved a few seconds. I then told him to add them up during a week. I gave up and then just adopted what I said earlier, use whatever works. Quote

I was looking at your pics. GFather Mtn is about the prettiest place in the world. We drive up there each fall Quote

I feel very fortunate to live where I do. I need to upload some more. That was a weird day. It was in July and pretty warm here but 2 hours later and at that elevation it was almost cold. My favorite one is the summit of Stone Mountain, NC. Could not have asked for a better setting - Quote

I used to have a show 66 ford drag truck I used to carry up there every year. Or if we dont do that we will run up to Asheville to the Biltmore House (but that is usually at Christmas). I love NC.
