dermott brunton Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Is it possible to have an excel spreadsheet open on the same screen as Auto cad drawings where I might take values from the drawing and collate on the spread sheet. Quote
ReMark Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Are you aware that via the TABLE command one can datalink an AutoCAD drawing and an Excel spreadsheet? Quote
dermott brunton Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 ReMark No I am not aware of that function. How does it work? Quote
ReMark Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 One links Excel and AutoCAD with a datalink thus creating a bidirectional synchronization between the two programs. It all starts with the TABLE command > From a data link option then proceed from there. A change to the table in AutoCAD can be writen to an external source (Excel). A change in Excel can be captured in AutoCAD via the DATALINKUPDATE command. The other option you can look into is inserting a spreadsheet or a portion of it into AutoCAD via the PASTESPEC command. One last option is an add-on program called AutoTable by CADIG. http://www.cadig.com/products/ Try each one and choose the option that works best for your situation. Quote
