JamFam Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Greetings to all my CAD friends. I am using AutoCAD 2011. Because when I typically draw a circle I use the center, diameter style to create a circle. The factory default is Center, Radius. I would like to make the center, diameter my default setting whenever I chose to draw a circle. I would like to know how to make that change then how do I get it onto a custom tool palette? Quote
rkent Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 There should be a command already in the CUI for Circle, Center, Diameter. Drag and drop that onto a toolbar or a tool palette. Quote
BIGAL Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Do you want a complete new custom toolbar that has your options only then it can be done 2 ways either through the CUI by making a new toolbar or as I did as a partial menu and you control what the options do commands lisps etc. You can make them pretty elaborate draw a circle on a specific layer as an example. Any way if you search the forum my examples are under BIGAL and toolbar same if search toolbar only will produce links to "creating custom toolbars" Have a look at this you can see my toolbars http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?78154-Show-your-AutoCAD-screen-thread Quote
JamFam Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Thanks for help Caders. Will post back if I have any further questions on this subject. Cheers Quote
SLW210 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I find it much easier for keyboard input. I use Diameter and Radius a good bit. C>ENTER, Pick Center point of circle, for Radius input Radius, for Diameter, D>Enter input Diameter. You will find it much quicker and it will be a habit in a short time. Quote
Ski_Me Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I push real hard on my screen until the distortion spreads out to the size I need it then draw a circle around it with my sharpie. I then measure the size of my circle with a ruler and calculate the size I'm going to draw. Works like a charm and only takes me 10 minutes to perform. Quote
