ohmikeguard Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Hi Guys, I have been designing a structure and a large proportion of the shapes are irregular. I need to equally divided the area within the irregular shapes as even as possible to creating smaller individual spaces. Is there some kind of command that you can use to equalling divide the area of a shape within AutoCAD 2013? All Comments and help will be much appreciated! (Happy to post pictures to anyone who needs a better understanding of what I want to do!) Thanks Guys! Quote
BIGAL Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 This is a process done in land subdivisions all the time, take a big bit and divide it smaller generally based on a minimun size, you have a few methods parallel lines, swing line from point, brg line. The method is to iterate the area until it equals the desired area. I dont use it but it is a function of CIV3d. There should be some lisps out there. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 You might be able to work out a semi-automatic solution by Fixing the boundary and using Parametric Constraints and Dimensions (like =) on geometry. Experiment with the tools on the Parameters tab. Quote
